Shao Fan — a devoted wanderer of knowledge.
Holding a Master’s degree in Literature, Shao Fan has journeyed through philosophy, anthropology, mythology, psychology, cultural studies, and beyond. Along the way, they immersed themselves in Taiwan’s underground music scenes, eventually forming a band and settling into reggae rhythms and herbal culture. Through this path, they came to recognize a long-standing imbalance: an overindulgent mind and an absent body.
After 2018, guided by several mentors, Shao Fan began practicing qigong, tai chi, and Yijin Daoyin (Muscle-Tendon Changing exercises), returning to embodied cultivation.
In 2020, they began offering bodywork services rooted in the holistic flow between inner and outer, spirit and matter, consciousness and unconsciousness. They founded their personal studio brand, “Treesupsidedown” (顛倒樹). In addition to therapeutic fascia release and massage, their work has expanded to include group dream-reading sessions, tai chi instruction, and I Ching divination—creating comprehensive pathways for physical and spiritual attunement.
In 2024, Shao Fan stepped into the practice of internal alchemy (Neidan), integrating years of study and shifting mysticism from an academic or hobbyist pursuit into a daily lived practice.
