My name is g_niu_niu. I make videos, and I also make sculptures 😎
I graduated from the Sculpture Department at Taipei National University of the Arts. Technically, that means I should be very serious about materials, form, and the human body—but honestly, I prefer making things that are a bit crooked, awkward, and weird, always wondering: is this really okay? I usually document my life and creative process through short videos. Most of them are pretty nonsensical—sometimes they look like random footage, and that’s because they truly are random. I previously made the “Straight Gay King” series, which a lot of people loved. Unfortunately, my social media account suddenly disappeared not long ago, and years of life and work memories vanished overnight. Thank you all for your concern—I’m still alive 😌
(Update: my account @da_n__1101 is back—great news, worth celebrating! (☻-☻))
My sculptural inspiration mostly comes from people around me: friends, family, or a strangely awkward pose caught in a random moment. Recently, I even turned my younger brother into a small toy sculpture. It’s not big in size, but it carries a lot of emotion. For me, sculpture doesn’t have to be realistic. Messed-up proportions are totally fine. Even if it looks a bit dumb, as long as the presence is strong and it looks confident, it’ll be powerful. We’re here to be powerful.
Through this portrait sculpture workshop, I hope we can all “secretly observe” each other together. If it turns out great—awesome. If it doesn’t look like the person at all—that’s fine too. Fun matters most! Come and mess around 🤩🤩
(Participation in the workshop requires the purchase of a TPABF ticket.)
