Since the end of 2018, Bai Kui has been posting a series of comics on Weibo irregularly. We selected 12 episodes from this series and turned them into saddle-stitched booklets. These short stories, revolving around "convenience stores," take place inside the mind of this book designer. The comics were created by Bai Kui in his spare time using the commonly used inDesign layout software. The limitations of not being able to freely hand-draw actually created an unexpected charm in the visuals.

"Sai Ven": A mispronunciation of seven. Refers to the colloquial abbreviation for the well-known convenience store chain 7-11.

"Middle-aged": A Chinese word play. The inversion of the two Chinese characters from “年中” （"no rest in the middle of the year"）to “中年” (“no rest in the middle age”) symbolizes the occasional sleepless middle-aged individuals in the city
