This workshop treats the body as a re-imaginable interface. Using skin wax as the primary medium, it overlays the body with humorous, slightly mischievous flesh-like illusions. Photographs, 3D-printed objects, ribbons, everyday items, and accessories are embedded into the surface, making decorations appear to grow from the skin, get caught in it, or be stitched onto it.

Those slightly “off” body details that make you pause for a second look—and the absurd relationships between adornment and skin—turn *accident* into a carefully designed form of humor.

Participants are invited to create freely and playfully, redefining the most captivating “absolute territory” of the body.

*(Participants are welcome to bring their own photo files. A styling and decorative materials kit will be provided.)*

Workshop Instructor

陳品蓁 Jeci Chen @jc__viva

An animation and moving-image creator, born in Taipei in 1999. Jeci Chen graduated in 2022 from the Department of New Media Art at Taipei National University of the Arts. Her work primarily focuses on 3D/CGI animation, approached through an experimental lens that integrates multiple media and animated installations. She is known for constructing whimsical, humorous character textures that build curious worlds infused with a surreal atmosphere.

Beyond animation and moving-image works, her visual language extends into sculptural installations, toys, VJ performances, furniture design, and publishing, exploring ways to transform digital characters and fictional identities into physical forms that can be touched and experienced in real space. She also actively collaborates with musicians and creators from various disciplines, participating in music videos, visual performances, and cross-media projects to investigate the multiple roles of images within sound, rhythm, and live spatial environments.
