My creative concept stems from seeing a mentor I once knew appear on a #MeToo list. Back in university, many of us knew him well—we were close, and respected him. This year, after attending the funerals of two classmates and witnessing the past of this teacher being exposed, I honestly no longer know if I can still call him “teacher.” Is he still the person we once knew? Who is the real him? Or was the real him always the one who made us afraid—afraid he might suspect we were too close? Maybe that’s who he truly was all along.
