Yelena Yemchuk’s Mabel, Betty & Bette explores the elusive nature of identity through three fictional archetypes. Featuring a cast of over 50 women in three distinct wigs, the photographs capture the disorienting void between dreaming and waking. Punctuated by Hollywood-inspired collages, the project centers on a film shot in Ukraine, where artist Anna Domashyna performs all three roles, probing the tension between actual bodies and mythic social projections.
