Fieber is an artist’s book that came together in the aftermath of a year-long research into the daily, weekly, monthly, and

bi-monthly newspapers distributed in Georgia.

The publications kept accumulating in preparation for a project that was never realized for reasons outside the reach of the

artist and curator. Mostly covering political news, but also literature and art and culture from the capital and other regions of

Georgia, these newspapers and journals were collected throughout 2020 to 2021.

Characteristic of Wekua’s collage practice, Fieber consists of one hundred works, created in a span of a few hours, from the covers

of selected newspapers and the artist’s personal photographs.
